BKS holds Dogri folk music program based on Karks | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 11: A Dogri Folk music event was held today by Bhartiya Kala Sangam (BKS) sponsored by Ministry of Culture, Govt of India in which artists of eminence performed Dogri items based of Karks. On this occasion, Kavinder Gupta, former DyCM presided over the function and Vikram Singh Randhawa, ex-MLC was the chief guest. Besides office bearers of Bhartiya Kala Sangam including its Chairman T.R. Sharma, KAS (Rtd) and Romesh Singh Chib, Director, Urja Singh Slathia were also present. On this occasion, the guests Kavinder Gupta and Vikram Randawa addressed the distinguish gathering including art lovers. Appreciating the program, they expressed happiness saying that Dogra land is full of rich culture in which Karks have a very impressive role to strengthen the Dogra Culture. Congratulating the management of Bhartiya Kala Sangam, they urged the organizers of BKS to bring forth other art forms of Jammu region on the stage which are equally important to uplift the regional culture. Earlier welcoming the guests and esteemed audience, T. R. Sharma, Chairman, gave brief account of Cultural and literary activities undertaken by Bhartiya Kala Sangam and reiterated its resolve to widely spread the message of peace and harmony through the power of art, culture and languages continuing its efforts to induct new budding artists to showcase their talent. The artists including instrumentalists, who performed in the program were Surinder Singh Manhas and party, Garu Ram and party, Raj Kumar Jogi and party, Ramesh Jogi and party, Naresh N B and party, Heerana Devi and party, Chandan Jassu on Sinth. The program was ably anchored by renowned Radio/TV Announcer Rajni Anubhav and vote of thanks presented by Romesh Singh Chib, Director, BKS. |
