In J&K even policemen are unsafe what to say about a common man: Farooq
'Where are those who are claiming that everything is hunky-dory in UT'
12/11/2021 10:46:26 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 11: Former Chief Minister and National Conference patriarch Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Saturday lambasted J&K Government for its failure to protect the lives of innocent citizens.
“I am not answerable to the unabated killings of civilians and unarmed cops. It is better to ask this question to the government which is claiming that everything is ‘Hunky-dory’ in J&K”, he replied and asked, “Is it ‘Hunky-dory’ when even cops are not safe”. “What is the safety of an ordinary man in Jammu and Kashmir where police persons are not safe?”, he asked and regretted that bloodshed was going unabated and those at the helm of the affairs are not ready to accept the reality.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah has reasons to lambast the government because J&K Government has recently claimed that there will be no terrorism in the Valley after two years.
Recently it was claimed that people will not see terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir after two years. The govt of India is working in this direction.
Despite tall claims of the J&K Government, terrorists fired upon a police party at Gulshan Chowk area of Bandipora on Friday evening.
In this terror incident, two police personnel namely Selection Grade Constable Mohammad Sultan and constable Fayaz Ahmad got injured and attained martyrdom.
Friday's evening attack at Bandipora was the first terror attack on cops after a brief lull of one month. The last terror attack on cops was on November 7, when a policeman was shot dead by terrorists near his residence at Batamaloo, Srinagar.
Constable Tausif Ahmad, 29, was killed after the terrorists shot him from a point-blank range outside his residence at SD Colony around 8 pm on November 7, according to the police. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way. Ahmad, the lone breadwinner of his family, is survived by his wife, two children aged four and 5 five, and an old mother.
The killing of two cops is the latest incident in the fresh wave of terror activities in Kashmir Valley. The terrorists of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) have been indulged in selective killing of civilians and unarmed cops. Under the guise of The Resistance Front (TRF) terrorists of LeT have killed as many as 12 civilians and policemen in October alone, marking the highest number of casualties in the year so far.
