| ARTO conducts extensive checking from Katra to Domail | | |  Early Times Report
REASI, Dec 11: Acting tough on large number of complaints of overcharging of fares & overloading in Taxi/Maxi cabs, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Reasi, Rajesh Gupta along with his team conducted extensive checking from Katra to Domail today here on Saturday. During the inspection Rajesh Gupta enquired from passengers about the fare being charged and also held a meeting with Drivers, public and their elected representatives to sort out the issues regarding the transport in their respective areas. He assured the public that strict action as warrented under norms of the Motor Vehicles Act shall be initiated against the offenders.
During extensive checking the team onspot challaned 18 Vehicles for violation of MVA, ,96 vehicles challaned for other violation and an amount of Rs 105000.
ARTO also sensitised the drivers about MVA norms, COVID-19 SOPs and urged upon them to follow guidelines to ensure their safety against deadly virus as well as well being of others. During checking, ARTO emphansized that traffic violation leads to road accidents and kill hundreds of people on a daily basis and added that adherence to laws can avert most of the road accidents besides making commutation hassle free.
While interacting with the drivers as well as general public, Rajesh Gupta asked them to follow necessary guidelines issued by government from time to time. |
