Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 11: Police on Saturday arrested two drug peddlers with contraband of poppy straw in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police said that a narcotics smuggling bid was foiled at Nashri in Batote area with the arrest of two persons with poppy straw. During the routine checking, police said that the party at Nashri check point intercepted one car which was on its way from Srinagar towards Jammu. During checking, 15-kg of poppy straw was recovered from the car, they said. Two persons travelling in the car, identified as Shamsher Singh of village Kot Mohd Khan, Nasirewala, Moga, Punjab and Milka Singh of Kuanderi, Gobindpura, Shutrana, Patiala, Punjab, were arrested on the spot. A case has been registered and investigation started, police said. |
