Awareness Camp on PMEGP, CSS, Atmanirbhar Bharat held at Purmandal | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Dec 11: An Awareness Camp on Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), State package/Centre Sector Schemes and Incentives of Industries and Commerce Department was held today at village Khara Madana of Block Purmandal. District Development Council member Purmandal Avtar Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. Officers present in the camp included Surinder Paul Sharma, General Manager DIC Samba; Director RSETI, Bikramjeet Singh; Cluster Head J&K Bank, Arun Kapoor, besides Project Manager and IPOs from DIC Samba, officers from Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department, Handicrafts Department and elected representatives of Panchayat Khara Madana. During the Awareness programme, the resource persons from Industries Samba delivered lectures on how the rural population can benefit from schemes of the Industries Department with the active support of financial institutions. General Manager DIC Samba Surinder Paul Sharma informed the unemployed youth that DIC Samba is facilitating the prospective entrepreneurs to start their own ventures under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) where in the entrepreneurs can avail loans upto Rs 25.00 lacs under manufacturing sector and Rs 10.00 lacs under services sector and avail the subsidy from 15% to 35%. He further emphasized that unemployed youth should come forward for setting up micro industries if they have innovative and sustainable business ideas and become role models for other youngsters by becoming employment generators. Other resource persons from DIC Samba briefed the participants regarding the incentives under State package and Centre Sector Scheme 2021. Officers from Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department, Handicrafts Department and Cluster Head J&K Bank also briefed participants about different schemes being run by Government for the welfare of people. Later, the General Manager apprised that 10 cases from Purmandal Block stand sponsored by DIC Samba in the current financial year and urged the PRIs for creating maximum awareness about the scheme among the masses. The DDC member Avtar Singh appreciated the initiatives taken by District Industries Centre Samba to facilitate the youths of the remote area for setting up their businesses. The DDC member also handed over the sanction letters to 03 beneficiaries during the camp.
