GCPF demands constitution of General Category Commission | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 23: General Category People's Front (GCPF-JK) held its meeting today under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia, today and discussed in detail the issues of people. Addressing the meeting Prof. Yash Paul Sanson, President of the Front decried discriminatory biased socio-economic and political politics of Government which led to marginalization and neglect of General Category, the majority community. He said that Front demanded constitution of General Category Commission (GCC) which is demand of Swarn Castes. Front strongly condemned willful and deliberate attempt of government to sideline General Category People and to appease others playing divisive politics of caste and religion, he added. Front demanded an amendment in the constitution to ensure 'Equal Rights and Equal Law for all' through 'Equality Act'. At the same time, Govt. of India should notify State level minorities and provide all the benefits of various welfare schemed to actual minorities in various states. Govt. should solve the issue of reservation forever by ending it. The Government of India should establish supremacy of judiciary by implementing all its verdicts given on reservation. Over reservation in-group 'c' and 'd' posts be ended. Front expressed concern over unfold hardships caused by Govt to common man, employees and pensioners due to highest electric and water charges, service taxes and tolls. VK Sharma, Vice-President demanded release of blocked three installments and enhancement of Medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 PM of JK UT employees and pensioners who have been getting Rs 300 on MA for last 25 years. Banathia exhorted activists of the Front to be ready for coming elections to show the power of votes. Front would intensify its movement against inequalities, injustices and discrimination. |
