Jammu, Dec 23: A delegation of college Teachers' Association (CTA)-Jammu led by its President, Dr Rakesh Jasrotia met Secretary, Higher Education Department, Rohit Kansal and discussed in detail with him the various issues of college teachers. The issues raised by the Association included restoration of incentives for higher qualifications of MPhil and Ph.D., Review of unjustified Govt. order no.201-JK (HE) of 2020 regarding notional benefit from the date of eligibility of placement to our 139 facuty members, Clearance of placement cases to AGP 900, enhancement of age of superannuation at par with University teachers of J&K, implementation of UGC Regulations 2018 in toto, hassle free permission for pursuing ful time Ph.D. and Study leave thereof as per UGC guidelines 2018, delegation of powers to Director Colleges, post of Professor for ollege teachers under CAS as per UGC guidelines 2018 and Implementation of a Transparent and Rational Transfer Policy for the Cllege Teachers. He assured that the requisite demanded by the Finance Department in the issue of Incentives for higher qualifcations shall be immediately sent and as far as the review of the Govt. order No.201-JK(HE) of 2020, all ossibilities shall be explored for undoing the injustice.
He also agreed to immediately send the placement cases to AGP 9000 to JKPSc without any further delay. Besides, the worthy Secretary also responded positively to the demands of FullTime PhD and study leave thereof as well the post of Professor under CAS. The Association also apprised the Principal Secretary of the administrative and other infrastructural bottlenecks of colleges of Jammu and Kashmir UT and appealed him to take the appropriate steps to remove the same for creating conducive academic environment in the colleges. He listened to the demands put forth by the Association patiently and assured of necessary action on the same.
He also impressed upon the faculty members of various colleges to work hard to ensure NAAC Accreditation of the Colleges in J&K. He also discussed with the delegation with great enthusiasm the issues lie implementation of NEP 2020, NAAC accreditation of the exiting colleges, learning outcome based Teaching. sh Rakesh Badyal, Additional Secretary HED and Majid Bhat, Director Finance HeD were also present during the meeting.
