Anti-weaker section mindset of J&K Govt exposed

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 31: The National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) has exposed the anti-weaker section mindset of the incumbent Jammu and Kashmir Government for not solving genuine issues of the Other Backward Classes of J&K.
The NCBC took strong exception of non-implementation of Mandal Commission recommendation of J&K after the abrogation of Article 370. During a meeting with a delegation of OBCs from Jammu and Kashmir, NCBC expressed surprise that after the abrogation of Article 370, 10 percent reservation of Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category was automatically extended in the Union Territory but the same yardstick was not implemented for weaker sections.
“NCBC has taken very serious note of such discrimination with OBCs in Jammu and Kashmir”, Bansi Lal Choudhary, who was part of the delegation said and revealed that the Commission has given directions to the J&K government to implement the Mandal Commission report in J&K.
Enraged over the caste prejudice of the J&K government the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) have already launched an awareness campaign against the Saffron Brigade for “backstabbing” them.
This is nothing less than a blatant case of ‘backstabbing’ the community which had voted over-whelming in support of BJP in two successive Lok Sabha elections and 2014 assembly polls in J&K, said an OBC leader.
He said that it was all due to caste prejudice of incumbent BJP leadership that weaker sections were once again denied constitutional rights.
It was promised that after the abrogation of Article 370, OBCs of J&K would get 27 percent reservation like other parts of the country but BJP leadership, due to their anti-weaker section mindset, has again backstabbed OBCs.
“What is the fun of abrogation of the Article 370 when the provisions of Indian Constitution are not applied to the J&K?”, he said, adding, “Since August 5, politicians were claiming that OBCs will be benefitted of the abrogation of Article 370 but now real anti-weaker section face of Saffron Brigade has been exposed”.
Bansi Lal Choudhary said the OBCs of J&K feel totally cheated and they have lost the hope in present Government also.
