| Sharnarthi Action Committee condemns closure of one-time settlement scheme for DPs | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 31: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) has strongly condemned the relief administration of UT government for issuing notifications number DIP/J-12310/21 dated 28-01-2022 appeared in electronic media for closure of the one-time settlement scheme in respect of DPs of 1947 from POK 1965 & 1971.
The participants in the meeting termed this notification as arbitrary, illogical and mischievous. The notification has been issued with a clear intention to defame the Modi government in the eyes of various categories of DPs who have been provided a relief package of Rs 5.5 lakhs each DP family for the first time in seven decades.
Addressing the meeting Gurdev Singh President said that the government has been approached right from Divisional Commissioner to Chief Secy. of UT of J&K since 2019 to extend the scheme to accommodate thousands of left-out families for want of mandatory records, essential to establish the status of DPs. Such record is either dilapidated, torn/missing due to decades of absolute negligence of concerned relief administration. |
