Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 31: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha today paid rich tributes to Major Som Nath Sharma PVC, an Indian Army Officer, who was the first recipient of Param Vir Chakra. On his 99th birth anniversary a function was organized at Brahman Sabha, Parade under the Chairmanship of Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha President Ved Parkash Sharma and large number people from different walk of life participated in the function. President Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha Ved Parkash Sharma Senior BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma, prominent Social Activist Ex-DC B.S Jamwal, Senior Member of Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha Advocate P.C Sharma, NMC President Subash Shastri and BBDST President Balwant Singh, General Secretary Ramesh Sharma highlighted the great role of Major Som Nath Sharma who laid down his life while defending the Srinagar Airport from the attack by Pak Army on November 3, 1947 by virtue of his action the Pakistani Forces were flashed out up by the Indian Army beyond Uri but the then Govt. unilaterally announce the cease fire. |
