Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 31: In a PIL filed by Bar Association, Mendhar highlighting the dilapidated condition of the Munsiff Court Building, Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir & Ladakh High Court Comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Sindhu Sharma, directed AAG to find out the latest position and to submit a status report. When the PIL Came-up for hearing, Division Bench observed that the Infrastructure Committee of the High Court has already approved the DPR for the construction of the Court Complex (G+3) at Mendhar as prepared by the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Division, Poonch and counter-signed by the Chief Engineer at an estimated cost of ? 1234.60 Lakhs. DB further observed that the aforesaid recommendation of the Infrastructure Committee on being accepted by the Chief Justice has already been sent to the Secretary to Government, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, J&K vide letter dated 30.12.2021 and the progress thereof is not known. DB directed AAG Ravinder Gupta appearing for Com/Secy Finance Dept and AAG Amit Gupta, for Law Secretary are directed to find out the latest position and to submit a status report regarding the above. —JNF |
