NHPC Sewa-II re-starts Power generation | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 21: 120MW NHPC Sewa-II Power Station Mashka re-started power generation today after successfully completing the immensely challenging task of Head Race Tunnel restoration. A massive landslide in September 2020 had washed away a sizeable portion of underground HRT which necessitated the construction of a fresh 720 meters long bypass Tunnel. Anil Kumar Jain, Executive Director, Regional Office Banikhet, was present on the occasion and congratulated the entire team of Sewa-II PS for restoring the power station under extremely severe & challenging circumstances. He also encouraged the officials to ensure uninterrupted power generation in future. Parvesh Kumar Jain, GGM (I/C) Chamera-I; Suprakash Adhikari, GGM (I/C) Sewa-II PS; Sandeep Kumar, GGM (Tech.) Regional Office; Om Prakash GGM (Electrical) and various other senior officials were present to personally monitor and supervise the re-start of the power generation process. Adhikari thanked the senior management at NHPC Corporate Office and Regional Office Banikhet for the timely help, support & guidance provided in the restoration process. He also thanked the local government authorities for their support and praised the efforts of all members of Sewa-II team. |
