"The CRPF is working closely in coordination with other security agencies and it resulted in a peaceful and better situation in Jammu and Kashmir," Singh told reporters here at the sidelines of DG Parade ahead of CRPF Raising Day to be celebrated on March 19 at Maulana Azad Stadium. Union Minister Amit Shah will be the special guest on the occasion on March 19. "This is for the first time CRPF Raising Day is being celebrated outside in other parts of the country as per the directives of the Government of India so that the para-military forces can showcase their valour and courage to the people across," said the CRPF chief. He said that such occasions motivate and inspire people especially youth and help in nation building vis-a-vis national integration. "Present is very good. CRPF works under aid to civil authorities with local government," said the DG adding that the deployment is done based upon the inputs and requirements by the government. On terrorists taking shelter in some places, he said, "terrorists are for none and CRPF with other agencies will actively participate in counter insurgency operation." However, on Amarnath Yatra he said, "the government has yet to take a call on it and whatever directions will be given to us, we will work accordingly." |
