JAMMU, Mar 16: Over 1900 students from Jammu and Kashmir studying in Chandigarh University, are making a name for themselves with their achievements in the field of research, innovation, placement and entrepreneurship. The Technology Business Incubator (TBI) of the varsity is motivating the students to become self-employed by providing complete guidance and support towards Entrepreneurship.
A student of Automobile Engineering at the University, Trilok Singh, under the guidance of CUTBI, established his own start-up by the name of GEAR Technologies- Golden Eye Automotive Research and Restoration Technologies, which focuses on affordable high-end bicycles and their high technical equipment. Trilok has to his name, a range of innovative products including 'helicopter cycle', for which he has also successfully filed a patent.
In his journey to create employment as an entrepreneur, Trilok Singh did not stop here, but started a new start-up 'The Safe Zone' to tackle the menace of road accidents and raise awareness about road safety. More than 2000 products are available on The Safe Zone, meeting the quality and safety standards for two wheeler accessories. Trilok Singh has also been awarded the Green Innovator of the Year award to recognize his achievements in the field of self-employment and research.
"There is a lot of potential to reduce the risk of road accidents and The Safe Zone has proved to be an important step towards this. I don't think I would have come this far without the support of Chandigarh University," he shared with the reporters.
Local students bag top job offers from MNCs
The quality education and holistic development at Chandigarh University is helping the students bag good job offers by the top companies. During the campus placement drive, Abhinandan Singh, studying under Computer Science Engineering at the university, bagged job by American cloud computing company VMware Software at an annual salary package of Rs 11 lakh.
Shahid Parvez, a student of Electrical Engineering has received placement offer from two top multinational companies including Mphasis Limited and Consult Aid Services Private Limited, with the maximum annual package of Rs 7 Lakh. Apart from this, Vanshman Sharma, a computer science engineering student, has received placement offers from 6 companies including Cognizant Gency Enclave, Virtusa Consulting Services Pvt Ltd, Wipro, Capgemini, Sisa Information Security Pvt Ltd. He has been offered a job from High Radius with a package of Rs 8 lakh per annum.
