| Police, Excise department destroy poppy cultivation in outskirts of Kishtwar town | | |  Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Apr 15: Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of Drugs from the society, today a special drive against narcotic Drug cultivation was launched by Kishtwar Police in collaboration with Excise Department and huge cultivation of Poppy straw was destroyed on spot.
As per the details available with Early Times, acting on specific information about cultivation of Poppy Straw, Police party of Police Station Kishtwar led by Inspector Abid Bukhari SHO PS Kishtwar under the supervision of Dy.SP DAR Kishtwar Zia Ul Haq along with Executive Magistrate Kishtwar destroyed the poppy straw cultivation spread over Big Chunk Land in Pochhal areas of Kishtwar town.
In this regard Case FIR No. 84/2022 under relevant section of law has been registered at PS Kishtwar and investigation is being carried out.
SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt-JKPS advised all those who have cultivated Poppy Straw plants/Bang anywhere in district Kishtwar, destroy the same on their own, failing which they shall face strict action under law. The drive will continue to eradicate this menace. Public is requested to extend cooperation to the Police and come forward with any information regarding any kind of anti-social activity in their neighborhood. |
