Hilly, rural areas confronting development deficit under J&K Govt: Rattan Lal
'Only NC can bail out people from misery'
5/5/2022 11:34:04 PM
Early Times Report
BILLAWAR, May 5: The hilly, rural and far off areas are being discriminated badly by the government, which is busy in development of selected patches in and around Jammu walled city.
This was stated by National Conference Provincial President, Rattan Lal Gupta while addressing gatherings at Billawar and Mahanpur areas during a visit to aforesaid places in Kathua District. He was accompanied by several party functionaries during his visit to arid belt of Kathua District. The senior NC leader said that contrary to what is being publicized through print and electronic media by the J&K dispensation, the ground situation in context with the development in the rural and hilly belts is pathetic as people are craving for basic amenities.
During the visit, Rattan Lal Gupta held interactions with the people and took stock of their problems especially with regard to availability of connectivity, potable water, power, health edifice and education.
The NC leader said that people are confronting development deficit but the government is busy in spreading false narrative of colossal development in far off belts of J&K, which is a white lie as on ground people are facing multiple problems with no solution in sight. He said that neglect of hilly terrains is visible on ground but the government is trumpeting development, development and development day and night. He said that only NC can bail out people from this misery as castles of development made by J&K Government in air are distant apart from reality.
Rattan Lal Gupta expressed resentment against the order issued by the government in which people are being forced to get permission for construction of their residential houses from village Sarpanchs which is so agonizing and shameful. He asserted that the miseries of people have increased manifold in absence of popular demands. The senior NC leader asserted that only popular government can help the people to live a life with pride and dignity as Babus's Diktats are torturous. He asked people of hilly areas to strengthen Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah for the overall development of the Jammu and Kashmir.
"National Conference is a secular party and only it will fulfill the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir," Gupta said, adding that wrong decisions of government have made the lives of people a virtual hell therefore people should support NC to ensure public welfare and a meaningful life.
Among those who accompanied the Provincial President includeSheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary Jammu, Romy Khajuria District President Billawar, Pardeep Bali Sr. leader, Vijay Lochan P.P SC Cell, Karan Chand Member, Ashu Rajput, Dewan Chand, Uttam Chand, Rattan Pal, and all block presidents and all other district functionaries.
