JAMMU, May 7: Fresher's Day was celebrated in Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) today. The chief guest of function was Neeru Batra and D.K. Batra, Secretary was guest of honour. Manik Batra, Director, Batra Brothers Pvt. Ltd was the special guest on the occasion. The others present on the occasion were Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, Dr. Ravinder Gupta, Vice Chairman Sports & Cultural Activities, various HODs, faculty members, staff and students. A scintillating cultural programme was organized in which the students of 1st Year participated with full enthusiasm. During the function, a contest was organized in which Sarvgya Rishi was crowned as 'Mr Fresher' while Priyamvada Jamwal was crowned as 'Miss Fresher'. Divij Kapoor was adjudged as 'Mr Phenomenal' and Ridhi Sharma as 'Miss Phenomenal' while Ujjaval Kumar was judged as 'Charismatic' and Ipshita Mahajan as 'Miss Charismatic'. The programme was witnessed by Dr. K.S Mehta, Prof & HOD Surgery, Dr. Sapna Puri, Prof & HOD Obstetrics & Gynae and Dr. Vanita Gupta, Prof & HOD Anatomy.
Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal in his address appreciated the students for their scintillating performance in today's function which kept the audience spell bound.
He also gave a brief overview of college activities to the new comers and congratulated them for having cleared a ferocious academic competition and securing a seat in medical college. In the end, he also appreciated the efforts put in by the students under the supervision of Dr. Ravinder Gupta, Vice Chairman Sports & Cultural Activities for organizing this event. |
