JAMMU, May 8: Shivsena Kashmir unit raised serious concern over the problems being faced by the people of Kashmir Valley due to lack of basic amenities as there is dire need to improve the health and education infrastructure in the rural areas. On to the instructions of Manish Sahni, J&K President Shiv Sena, a meeting was held in Bandipora district under the leadership of Ghulam Rasool, Working President of Kashmir Valley in which several issues were discussed related to the hardships being faced by the people residing in rural areas. Rasool said that there is a need to provide better electricity and water supply including health and education facilities to the people residing in rural areas of the Valley. Shakeela Begum, Chairperson, Women's Commission of Kashmir Division, who was present in the meeting, said that the people of rural areas are still decrying for basic facilities like adequate supply of electricity, water, education and health facilities. The government is wasting tax money of general public by installing big TVs / LEDs and fountains on the streets of the cities while the people of rural areas are deprived of basic facilities. “There is an acute shortage of medicines and doctors along with better facilities in most of the health centers of the villages. People have to travel 15-20 kilometers to reach to the district hospital for treatment of common diseases. At the same time, there is a need to improve the education infrastructure and open colleges and higher level education centers at village level,” she asserted. At the same time, dozens of local people, influenced by the policies and ideas of the party, joined Shiv Sena on this occasion. Naseema Begum and District President Shabir Ahmed welcomed the newly joined members into the party fold by presenting Shiv Sena's Nishan and Bandhan. The newly joined members assured the Party leadership that they would work hard in taking the policies and programmes at grass roots level. |
