| Police rescue abducted girl, arrests accused | | |

Srinagar, May 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have recovered an abducted girl and arrested the accused person involved in the crime.
Passipora Police received a written complaint on May 6, 2022 from one Nazir Ahmad Mochi of Zasoo stating that his daughter had been kidnapped by a person identified as Sohail Ahmad Wani of the same area. Police said, accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Litter in Pulwama district and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, officers raided various suspected locations and after strenuous efforts arrested the kidnapper and recovered the girl within a shortest possible time from Tahab area of Pulwama.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the matter is in progress, Police added. |
