JAMMU, May 8: BJP leader Ritika Trehan along with hundreds of women marched towards the venue of ‘PoJK Sankalp Rally’ at Govt Women College Gandhi Nagar. Thereafter, rich tributes were paid to the warriors of Mirpur, Bhimbar, Kotli, Bagh Pulandri, Sadnoti, Muzzarafabad, Deva Batala, Gilgit, Baltistan and the people of Poonch who laid down their lives while fighting with the Pakistan army. Yesterday, Trehan also visited the families of PoJK refugees and urged them to be part of the ceremony especially women and people from PoJK displaced community were requested to attend the ‘Shraddhanjali Sabha’ and give tribute to their ancestors and also remember the sacred land from where they were uprooted. May 8 marked the historical event for J&K to pay tribute to those martyrs and remind our younger generation about areas of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir which have been illegally occupied by Pakistan since 1947, she said. |
