JAMMU, May 12: Government Degree College, Chenani under its NSS Unit, ‘PRAYATNA’ and the cell for ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ conducted door to door awareness drive in the colony in vicinity of the college making the local residents aware on issues pertaining to health, hygiene & sanitation. The students interacted with the locals of the area about cleanliness and solid waste management, building on local knowledge and promoting positive traditional practices of sanitation, they exhorted about developing new strategies and tools to improve key hygiene behaviours, while empowering communities to take their health and well-being into their own hands.
Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal of the College urged that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India and by the participation of the public country-wide, the dream of a ‘Clean India’ once seen by Mahatma Gandhi can be realized in its true sense. |
