JAMMU, May 12: International Nurses Day 2022 with theme “A Voice to Lead—Invest in Nursing and Respect Rights to Secure Global Health” was celebrated by Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing. This day commemorates Florence Nightingale’s birth anniversary, known as the founder of modern nursing. The programme started with welcome speech by Kajal Rajput and Vijeta Jaggi students of B.Sc Nursing 4th year. Power Point Presentation on Nurses Day was presented by Mohammad Anees of GNM 3rd year. Other performances includes Dogri Dance performed by GNM 1st Year, Punjabi Dance performed by B.Sc 1st Year, Kashmiri Dance performed by B.Sc 4th Year, Mime on Nursing Process performed by B.Sc 1st Year and Skit on Student Nurses Life performed by B.Sc 1st year. Chairman RGCN Jammu M.S Katoch encouraged the staff and students for organising such events. He said the entire world is grappling with the perils put forth by the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare personnel, and nurses have been working around the clock to take care of vulnerable patients. Throughout the pandemic era, nurses have made tremendous sacrifices, fought heroically, and recommitted themselves on a daily basis to combat an unparalleled global health crisis. Director RGCN Anjana Bavouria said nurses through their relentless commitment, expertise, professionalism, bravery, and heroic actions have saved countless numbers of lives while caring and comforting so many through their suffering and onto a path of recovery whilst also providing compassionate end of life care. Principal RGCN, Rafiqa Bashir congratulated the faculty and students of RGCN on this day. She said the value of a true nurse lies in the ability to show respect for human life and dignity, social justice and integrity, and total commitment to patients and other healthcare users. |
