Early Times Report RAMBAN, May 14: District Legal Services Authority Ramban, under the guidance and Chairmanship of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Haq Nawaz Zargar who is also the Chairman District Legal Services Authority Ramban, on Saturday organized National Lok Adalat on directions of the UT of J&K Legal Services Authority in the district. A total 1914 cases of different nature were taken up out of which 1310 cases were settled with awarding of a settlement amount of Rs.6605000 in MACT Cases and recovering Rs 207850 as compounding fine in other cases. The bank recovery cases payment of Rs 601000 was agreed upon, while Rs 858500 was awarded in pre litigation and other cases. Five benches were constituted for settling the referred cases. The first bench was presided over by the Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Ramban who was assisted by the Additional District & Session Judge Fast Track Court, Surinder Singh; the 2nd bench was presided over by I/C CJM (Sub Judge) Ramban, Romesh Lal who was assisted by Munsiff JMIC Ramban Arusa Choudhary, while 3rd, 4th and 5th, benches were constituted at Batote, Banihal and Ukhral. The Bar members, litigants and other stakeholders cooperated in settling the cases in National Lok Adalat. The COVID-19 Guidelines were strictly followed during the proceedings. |
