PAGD to meet Lt Governor over Pandit security issue | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 14: The People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) leaders including Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti have decided to meet J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sjnha to put forth demands of the Kashmiri Pandit community. The PAGD headed by Farooq Abdullah on Saturday held a meeting with a delegation of Kashmiri Pandit and the alliance made the decision to meet Lt Governor. "The leadership of the Alliance will meet Lt Governor at Raj Bhavan where we will take up the issue of protection of Kashmiri Pandits," PAGD spokesman M Y Taragami said. He said a group of Kashmiri Pandits met PAGD leaders and some of them want to leave Kashmir. "We told them that Kashmir also belongs to the Pandits. Leaving it is not the solution to the problem," Taragami said. The spokesman said the use of force against protesting Pandits yesterday was extremely unfortunate. The spokesman said there are tall claims from the government about normalcy in Kashmir, however, the situation on the ground is quite contrary. |
