JKGLTA extends support to May 24 strike call of Medical Employees Federation | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 22: Jammu & Kashmir Laboratory Technician Association, Jammu held an urgent meeting under the presidentship of Aslam Choudhary President JKGLTA to discuss long pending demands and decided to support the strike on May 24 at 10 am to 1 PM on the call given by Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation, Jammu. During the meeting JKGLTA President demanded that departmental promotion committee (promotions) of all categories in the health department is conducted. They alleged that the administrative department of health & family welfare has failed to frame rules of promotions and conduct DPC, which has been pending for the last four years. Several higher grade posts have been lying vacant in the department for many years .So many health employees have been retired without getting their promotion benefits. Patient also suffered due to shortage of staff in health institutions. They also alleged that the administration failed to resolve the permanent salary issue of Female Multipurpose Workers and other staff getting salaries under Head -2211 Family Welfare. The salary of FMPH Workers and other staff has been pending for the last five months, and the employees and their families have been facing hardship and are on the verge of starvation, and many are not getting their treatment due to not being the released of their salary. They urged the UT Govt should register leftover government in service pharmacists under the new pharmacy Act 1948 section 32-C, which was implemented in UT after the abrogation of Article 370. The Association demanded restoration of the old pension scheme for all UT employees on the analogy of neighbouring states. Non-Pension scheme failed to protect the post retirement welfare of Govt employees and new employees want to return to the old pension scheme. |
