Demand to implement prohibition, make strict laws on bovine smugglers | Shiv Sainiks protest against liquor sale, bovine smuggling | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, May 22: Shiv Sena Ramban unit today staged a strong protest demanding prohibition of liquor on temple soil and a strong law against bovine smuggling. As instructed by the party state chief Manish Sahni, Shiv Sainiks gathered under the leadership of Udhampur-Doda prabhari Ashwani Prabhakar and vice-president Natwar Lal , raised slogans and appealed to the Lt. Governor of J&K for prohibition of liquor and implement strict law on bovine smugglers. On his briefing Natwar Lal said that the Shivsena has taken the initiative to make this holy land of temples, saints and prophets alcohol-free. He said over here many historical religious places including holy Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple, Holy Amarnath Cave, Mitchell Temple, historic Radhunath Temple, Jama Masjid, Charar-e-Sharif, Hazratbal, Gurdwara Mattan Sahib, Chatti Padshahi Gurdwara, there are many places, where liquor should be completely prohibited. At the same time, Ashwani said that the cases of cow smuggling in Jammu and Kashmir are increasing rapidly due to which our religious sentiments are being hurt. He said that in most of the cases, the sections used by the police for the arrest of bovine smugglers are getting bail from the court very easily. Ashwani raised the demand to hand over the caught cattle to the Gaushala along with imposing strict laws on the smugglers. Many Shiv Sainiks including District President Tilak Raj, Pooja Devi, Ashok Kumar, Kishore Kumar, Angrez Singh, Raksha Devi, Kanta Devi, Madan Singh, Sardari Lal, Sanjay Kumar, Mukesh Kumar participated in this demonstration. |
