J&K Police arrests rape accused within 5 hours in Budgam | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 22: Police in central Kashmir's Budgam district on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly raping a 19-year-old woman within five hours of committing the crime. According to police, a written complaint was received at Police Station Khansahib from one Ghulam Rasool Sheikh, stating therein that his daughter, aged about 19 years, was raped by one Mudasir Ahmed Wani, resident of Zagoo Kharein. A police statement said that an FIR under relevant Sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigations taken up. A police team of Khansahib swung into action and arrested the accused from Zagoo Khansahib within five hours of committing the crime. "Medical examination of the victim was conducted by a board of doctors at Sub-District Hospital Khansahib on the basis of her statement. The accused has been booked under Section 376 of IPC (rape) and other relevant Sections," the statement added. |
