ACR Kathua discusses arrangements for DGPC elections 2022 | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, May 27: Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kathua Sandeep Seointra, who is also the Returning Officer for District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (DGPC) Elections- 2022, today convened a preparatory meeting for smooth conduct of ensuing DGPC elections. Threadbare discussions were held on various aspects of the election process. The ACR informed that the election notification was out and the process of election has been started. He also informed that 21 polling stations will be established for elections to 11 District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committees. "The election schedule has been issued with May 28 set as commencement date and June 4, 2022 as the last date for filing nomination papers" he said. Pertinently, as per the notification issued for the DGPC Elections in Kathua, the time and date of scrutiny of nomination papers has been fixed as June 7, last date for withdrawal of candidature is June 9, date for allotment of symbols is June 10, last date for campaigning June 27, while Polls and counting would be held on same day on May 27. During the meeting, the ACR directed the concerned officers to go through the Handbook of RO and the Jammu & Kashmir Sikh Gurudwaras and Religious Endowment Rules 1975 and get acquainted with the rules mentioned so as to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free, fair and peaceful atmosphere. |
