Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 28: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference suffered a jolt on Saturday when its senior leader, Rajiv Mahajan along with other prominent citizens of the UT joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday in the presence of Co-In charge Jammu province Pardeep Mittal.
Welcoming former National Conference leader, Rajiv Mahajan, retired Judge Sikendr-e-Azam besides retired Dept Director health L.D Bhagat and Former General Manger SFC Kulbir Singh Slathia with large number of supporters into Party fold, Pardeep Mittal said that the AAP has taken its birth to the service of common man, the workers, laborers and exploited class of the society.
"People in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory are eager to bring AAP to power," he said.
He said several prominent people have joined the AAP for two reasons. Firstly, they were dismayed by the kind of policies being peddled by the BJP and secondly, they were impressed by the policy of change and the model of governance the AAP has given in other states under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal.
He added that these people had always been keen on being a part of the Aam Aadmi Party's revolutionary politics and showed their zest in doing so as soon as the party started its political campaign in the J&K UT.
Rajiv Mahajan is a well-known face in J&K. Fed up with the BJP's policy, he is joining the Aam Aadmi Party today. He was actively associated with the National Conference and J&K President Shri Ram Sena, Mittal said.
He also appealed to the other likeminded citizens to come forward and join AAP for a clean, pro-poor Government.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajiv Mahajan said, "I am joining the Aam Aadmi Party today because I was fed with the policies of the BJP at central level and NC in the J&K. I have joined this party because I am impressed with Arvind Kejriwal's work and ideology,"
Senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders present on the occasion include Harsh Dev Singh, T.S Tony, Yashpal Kundal, Om Khajuria, Sansar Singh and others.
