Army rescues 10 civilians stranded on Mughal Road | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 28: Army rescued 10 civilians stranded on the landslide-hit Mughal Road in Poonch district. Jammu-based Defence PRO Lt Col Devender Anand on Saturday said that last night at around 1100 PM, Army Unit received an SOS call from police regarding a landslide which had blocked the Old Mughal Road. “Responding immediately, a Rescue Team from the Unit accompanied by J&K Police personnel launched the operation,” he said. The spokesman added that the rescue team found six vehicles along with passengers stranded and taking stock of the situation, they promptly started clearing the debris and rescued 10 civilians including a lady and a child. They were then provided with heating arrangements and warm meals. “The locals were grateful to the joint Rescue Team for timely response in extricating them from the landslide location,” he added. |
