OSC spreads awareness about Sakhi Centres through door to door campaign

RAJOURI, June 2: One Stop Centre for Women, in collaboration with Special Cells for Women (National Commission for Women), today conducted a Door to Door awareness drive here at Dassal Gujjran to educate the women folk about Sakhi Centres. The drive was conducted on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal and under the supervision of Nodal Officer Wakeel Ahmed Bhat (DSWO). Women were enlightened about the initiative of the Government of India in the form of Sakhi Centres opened across the country to assist distressed women.
The Team OSC along with counsellor from Special cell went from door to door to raise awareness among women about their rights and redressal mechanisms in case of violation. Administrator, Nitu Sharma imparted information regarding different schemes of the government for the benefit of the women.
Parkish Sharma, Counsellor (NCW) briefed the working of the special cell.
Advocate Sukshan and Sonakshi Sharma (case workers) explained the objectives of OSC and its functioning and how one can get access to the centres. The motive of the drive was to make women of remote areas part of the mainstream and provide them with basic knowledge about their welfare.
