GDC Ukhral organises lecture on "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao"

RAMBAN, June 2: NSS Unit of Government Degree College, Ukhral, in collaboration with Women Empowerment Cell, today organized a lecture on "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" to educate the students about the importance of Education of Girls in the society. At the outset, the Program Officer NSS, Prof. Zakir Hussain Naik welcomed the audiences and highlighted that the event has been organised to promote gender equality, protection of girl child, encourage girl's education and improve the child sex ratio.
Principal of the College, Prof (Dr.) Ranvijay Singh, while commencing the programme, talked about the growing injustice and exploitation with the girl child. He stressed on the need of girl education, so that they can raise their voice against exploitation with them.
Prof Rafia Banoo Baig, the resource person, in her lecture, highlighted the aims and objectives of the scheme as well as reasons behind launching it. At the same time, she highlighted different measures to enhance women empowerment and girl's participation and to reduce sex differences.
HoD English, Prof. Iftikhar Hussain Lone, Prof. Akash Verma HoD Computer Applications, Prof. Shafiq Ahmad Katoch, coordinator IQAC were also highlighted the importance of girls' education to bring gender equality in the society. The technical support was given R.K Thakur.
