DC launches Iconic Yoga sessions at Ramban

RAMBAN, June 4: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today launched Iconic Week in lead up to World Yoga Day on June 21 at Government Model Higher Secondary School, Ramban wherein the students practiced different postures of Yoga.
The Iconic Yoga sessions are being organized by the Directorate of AYUSH in collaboration with District administration in Ramban, Batote, Banihal and Gandhri as a precursor of International Yoga Day on June 21.
The Deputy Commissioner also distributed books on Yoga demonstration among students in presence of the Chief Education Officer, Dev Anand, Principal, GMHSS, KK Sharma, District Yoga Nodal Officer, Dr. Masood Iqbal Zargar, Senior Faculty Member, Raj Singh Raju and District Coordinator 'Fit India' campaign in Education Department, Pawan Kumar besides other senior officers.
Stressing on the need of adopting yoga to keep body and mind fit, the DC said that yoga has revolutionized health management across the world. All the nations under the Banner of UNO recognize the importance of International Yoga Day by offering an opportunity to bring the mind in equilibrium with the body besides helping harness an individual's inner strengths.
He said that yoga is universally acknowledged as the best treatment for all diseases, and if practiced regularly it eradicates mental stress and keeps the body, mind and intellect fit.
