International fake call center busted, 32 people arrested | | | agencies NEW DELHI, June 4: Around 32 people, who were allegedly running an International fake call center and used to dupe USA citizens under the pretext of providing Microsoft support, were arrested by the Cyber Police of Outer district here, police said on Saturday. According to police, the accused were cheating US citizens by pretending to be executives of Microsoft support. It also came to notice that fraudsters were engaged in using illegal techniques, VOIP calling, bypassing the legal International Long Distance (ILD) Gateways and thus causing wrongful loss to Government Exchequer and wrongful gain to themselves. On checking the computer systems installed there it was found that they were also using remote access applications such as Ultra viewer, Team Viewer and Any Desk. The dialing software was checked and a list of US telephone numbers in the Dialed/Received Calls was found, said Sameer Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer District. Four main accused, identified as Mohit Khanna (50), Bhupinder Singh (32), Rahul Makhija (22) and Subham (23), were allegedly found involved in the offence were arrested and other twenty eight telecallers were also bound down, said Sharma.
