6/16/2022 11:30:09 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 16: On the direction of Ganesh Khajuria, Chairman JKTF a protest demonstration was held by the district Jammu unit of Jammu & Kashmir Teachers Forum, under the leadership of Bharat Bushan Sharma, District President. Hundreds of Masters and Teachers in order to express the anguish & annoyance against the gross violations of transfer policy which is quite visible in the recently issued transfer list of Masters under ATD-2022 took part in the demonstration.
All the speakers strongly criticized the approach adopted by the authorities by transferring the Masters by pick & choose policy in order to benefit their blue-eyed Masters. While addressing the gathering Sharma lambasted at the authorities for centralizing all the powers at the secretariat level which is the root cause of all the existing problems. He demanded for decentralization of powers to the subordinate officers as per the past practice in order to provide justice to the teaching community & also for the smooth & fair functioning of department.
He said the transfer list of masters issued under ATD-2022 has many loopholes as many Masters serving in the Municipal limits and its periphery are again adjusted within the Municipal limits and some adjusted in zero km distance which is gross violation of transfer policy.
He said that many of the Masters serving in the city areas have not been either displaced or transferred for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities. He said that many of the Masters who are going to retire within two years of their services also have been disturbed/ transferred as this will cause hardships in the final settlement of retirement cases.
He said that hundreds of Masters have been working in the surplus capacity for so many years due to the non-serious approach of the authorities. These Masters might be adjusted on vacant posts suitably in order to utilize the existing human resources properly and effectively. The Forum has appealed the higher ups of the department to personally intervene and look into the matter and take necessary corrective measures to set the things right in order to provide justice to the aggrieved Masters and to avoid further chaos and confusion.
