Target killings of cops: J&K Police to reframe strategy for foiling designs of terrorists
6/18/2022 11:04:58 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 18: On May 24 when terrorists killed police constable Saifullah Qadri in the heart of Srinagar city, top brass in the J&K Police had assured revenge for the gruesome killing.
After identifying the terrorist involved in the incident, forces were tracking him.
Ultimately, on June 13, a self-styled commander of the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit Adil Parray was killed in a brief encounter in the Kreesbal Palpora area in the Srinagar district.
Adil Parray was involved in the gruesome killing of two unarmed cops namely Ghulam Hassan Dar in Sangam and Saifullah Qadri in Soura.
Three weeks after killing Saifullah Qadri, terrorists on Saturday killed another police constable Farooq Ahmad Mir in Awantipora.
Continuing killings of unarmed cops in Kashmir Valley after repeated intervals killed the constable who had gone in his fields.
According to police, the Sub-Inspector was shot dead by terrorists in the evening hours on Friday at the Pampora area of Samboora of Awantipora. Bullets ridden body of the Sub-Inspector was found in fields near his home on Saturday morning. “Dead body of Farooq Ahmad Mir of Samboora SI (M) posted in IRP 23 BN was found in paddy fields near his home.
Preliminary investigation reveals that he had left his home for work in his paddy fields yesterday in the evening, where he was shot dead by terrorists using a pistol”, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar tweeted.
Highly placed sources said that higher-ups in the police department have decided to redevise the strategy to counter this new design of terrorists.
As reported earlier experts believe that repeated attacks on cops were a part of a deep-rooted conspiracy of mentors of terrorists sitting across the border.
Experts cautioned that Pakistan-sponsored terrorists have intensified targeted killings of cops only to demoralize J&K Police.
“Recent selective killings of cops were part of the deep-rooted strategy devised by the mentors of terrorists- sitting across the border”, experts said and cautioned that the new strategy of terrorists was aimed at demoralizing J&K Police which has been playing a dominant role in anti-terror operations for the last 30 years.
Today was the fourth attack on unarmed cops in Kashmir Valley within the last month.
