BJP councillors loot on name of Smart City

Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 18: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir today raised serious concern over the working style of BJP leaders sitting in the Jammu Municipal Corporation on the name of Jammu Smart City.
Addressing a press conference at Party's state office today, Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena J&K said that Jammu Municipal Corporation has become a den of corruption. This has been proved with the arrest of BJP Councilor of Ward 53 by Anti-Corruption Bureau Jammu last day while giving NOC for development works. Her husband was caught red handed in the bribery case of ten thousand.
Sahni said that the laying of colorful tiles on the sidewalks of the city and the revamping of the pavements also indicates that the game is being played to benefit crores of their loved ones. On the other hand, by spending crores of rupees on the main roads and intersections of the city, public tax money has been wasted openly by putting swings in every ward of the city in the name of LEDs and gyms, he added.
"The work is being done to fill the pockets of the contractors by wasting the tax money of the public. Unnecessary LEDs have been installed on the main roads of the city, which can invite road accidents by diverting the attention of the drivers. "On the other hand, construction of smart parking without widening of roads and robbing the public under the guise of parking by contractors does not seem appropriate from any point of view," he said.
Sahni urged the Lieutenant Governor to conduct a thorough probe over the allotment of development works under the Smart City project. He said that the darkness in the state has increased so much that milk or its products are being sold at arbitrary prices. Liquor mafia is also collecting more than the price and the administration is sitting blindly, he added.
Among others who were present in the press conference include President Meenakshi Chhibber, General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, In-charge Ashwani Prabhakar and Vishal Verma.
