“Capacity building programme held at RGCN” | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 18: Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing Jammu organized faculty development programme at their campus Chak Bhalwal on Saturday. The major objectives while framing this Faculty Development Programme were to improve technical knowledge of teaching faculties and to incorporate skills in their teaching so that the students can provide qualitative care to their patients. Principal RGCN Jammu, Rafiqa Bashir speaking on the occasion emphasised the need for putting in hard work by the teachers, students and the management of Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing to develop this institution as a centre of excellence in teaching and research in the discipline of nursing. Principal Alamdar College of Nursing IUST Kashmir, Dr Mehmooda Regu, spoke about the various roles of teachers like facilitator, instructor and creator. Also, she explained on transformation education, competency based education and methods to reduce medical errors. Principal College of Nursing SKIMS Soura Srinagar, Dr. Muneera Bashir, explained the importance of enhancing the range of student learning outcomes. She explained the importance of these programmes and highlights the various trends in nursing profession. After that, the remaining sessions were taken by Dilshada Banoo, Vice-Principal College of Nursing GMC Baramulla, on method of teaching and various issues which we are facing as a nursing profession. She explained how much a teacher should change his life for the students so that students will be made perfect. She spoke about Blended learning approach and its effective usage in students and discussed various learning methods and how to reduce the stress of students. In addition, she focused on the up gradation of teacher's knowledge. |
