Javed Rana seeks assistance to flash flood sufferers, farmers | | | Early Times Report MENDHAR, June 22: President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Pirpanjal, Javed Ahmed Rana today expressed serious concern over the damages caused due to flash flood in parts of the Pirpanjal due to incessant monsoon rains and urged the administration to undertake immediate restoration of infrastructure. In a statement issued here today, the senior NC leader Jan called for immediate restoration of various protection bunds, road network and other public utility services that have suffered damages due to water logging and flash floods, besides shifting such of the families to government buildings whose houses have been damaged. He urged the district administrations of Rajouri and Poonch for carrying out urgent survey to assess the losses so that those suffered could be compensated. He further hoped the government will rise to the occasion and come to the rescue of the farming community and said such farmers, whose crops are not insured, need to be compensated fully. He also stressed the need for immediate restoration of various utility services like electricity and drinking water wherever these have been affected. Javed Ahmed Rana also expressed grief over the loss of human life in cloudburst at Poonch district and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved families. He prayed for peace to the departed soul in the natural calamity and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family who lost his dear one in the tragedy. He appealed to the Lt Governor to release adequate compensation for the family of a truck driver who has lost their dear one due to the calamity. |
