| GDC Vijaypur organized an Essay-Writing Competition | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 30: The Red Ribbon Club of GDC Vijaypur organized an essay-writing competition on the theme ‘HIV-AIDS: Causes and Prevention’. The convener of the Red Ribbon Club, Poonam Kundan, welcomed all the participants and instructed them for writing the essay on the stated theme. She expressed that HIV is a lifelong condition but treatments and certain strategies can prevent the virus from transmitting and the infection from progressing. Students of the institution enthusiastically participated in the competition.
The event was conducted under the able guidance of Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College. She apprised the students that AIDS is a deadly disease that is rampant in humans and talking openly about it can help normalize the prevailing situation. Such activities provide opportunities to correct the misconceptions and also help others to learn more about HIV-AIDS, she said. She congratulated all the students who participated with their body, mind and soul for making the competition valor and exalted. In the competition, first position was secured by Ms. Kajal Choudhary of B.Com. Sem-II, accordingly second position was shared by Ms. Roopa Devi, Mr. Akash, Manesha Sangotra of B.A. Sem-II and third position was bagged by Ms. Manreen Kour; Ms. Pooja Devi of B.A. Sem-II and Ms. Simran Kour of B.Com. Sem-II. The competition was adjucated by Dr. Shittal Sharma, Prof. Anil Bhagat and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary. The merit certificates were awarded to all the winners and E-certificates were awarded to all the participants.
