Zulfikar welcomes Govt decision to cancel SIs recruitment | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, July 8: Apni Party vice president Choudhary Zulfikar Ali has welcomed the decision of J&K Govt for cancelling the selection list of the Sub Inspectors in Jammu and Kashmir Police and handing over investigation to CBI following the surfacing of a recruitment scam. In a statement to the press, Zulfikar Ali said that "I welcome the decision of the Govt in which they have cancelled the recruitment of Sub Inspectors in JKP and handed over the investigation to CBI for probe." He said that "The decision has generated a ray of hope among the youth particularly meritorious aspirants who had studied and prepared for the recruitment process for the last four to five years but they could not find their names in the selection list due to allegations of nepotism and corruption." Expressing full support to the Sub Inspector aspirants, he said that the Govt should order a fresh recruitment process for the Sub Inspectors in J&K Police on fast track basis so that the aspirants could get a chance to appear in the competition tests again for their recruitments. He said that the accused persons in the recruitment board must be brought to book. "The youth were in frustration from the last several years with no scope for employment. However, following the recruitment list of Sub Inspectors surfaced, people accused the selection board of nepotism after some candidates from a family and some students who studied in a library at Akhnoor were selected in the cancelled list of Sub Inspectors." In these circumstances, he said that "There is a need to restore confidence among the educated youth and provide them ample job opportunities in J&K. Youth has mainly depended upon the Govt services. However, the vacant posts were not referred for recruitment to the respective recruitment agencies and it gave rise to the feeling of alienation and frustration among the educated unemployed youth." He demanded that the Govt must advertise all the vacant posts for their recruitment. "J&K has potential in the tourism sector and other private sectors, but the people here are dependent upon the Govt jobs and therefore, the Govt must prepare accordingly keeping in view the ground situation of J&K," he added. With today's decision of the Govt, he said that the youth have become hopeful that the genuine demands would be considered and recruitment will be carried out in a transparent manner. "We have over 61000 daily wagers in different Govt Depts and they must be regularized. The Govt must come up with their regularization policy for the daily wagers and other contractual workers in J&K. We shall not ignore their services. They have played a very crucial role in keeping the services of essential departments functional even during covid19 lockdowns," he said. |
