Kashmiris frustrate Pak PM’s evil designs on Burhan Wani's death anniversary | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 8: Today was the sixth death anniversary of the dreaded self-styled commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorist Burhan Wani but residents of Kashmir preferred to ignore this date to conduct their normal day-to-day activities. Although the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif tried to rake up the sentiments of Kashmiris by “lauding” Burhan Wani, there was no response to Shehbaz Sharief's call in Kashmir Valley. Today was Friday and it was coincident that today was the sixth death anniversary of the dreaded Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani. Unlike the previous five years, neither there was a strike call nor authorities snapped internet connections. Life was going normal in almost all parts of Kashmir Valley. Even in Pulwama the home town Burhan Wani there was no strike. Not even a single function was held to observe the death of the dreaded self-styled commander of the Hizbul Muhahidden terror outfit who was once the poster boy of Kashmir Valley. Burhan Wani was killed on July 8, 2016, in an encounter with security forces in South Kashmir. His killing had triggered a massive five-month summer agitation in Kashmir that left over 100 people dead and thousands injured. In his attempt to exploit the sentiments of the people, Pakistan praised Burhan Wani and said his “heroic struggle' continues to 'inspire” Kashmiri youth In a tweet, Sharif said that Wani's “heroic struggle continues to “inspire the Kashmiri youth & blaze their path”. Pakistans Ministry of Foreign Affairs also posted a message on Burhan Wani's death anniversary Pakistan has made several attempts to internationalize the Kashmir dispute on several platforms including the United Nations. The attempts, however, received a muted response from the world community including from Pakistan's allies such as China. |
