| GDC Khour organizes poster making competition | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 8: NSS unit of GDC Khour organized a poster making competition on "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao". The competition was inaugurated by Principal of the college Dr T K Sharma along with senior faculty members. Among the students Khushi Sharma, Mannat Bhau, Shagun Choudhary, Simran, Manshu Manhas, Kanchan Manhotra, Kamini Kumari and Needhi Kumari participated in this competition. Speaking on the occasion the Principal highlighted his concerns of gender discrimination and women empowerment. He further impressed upon the necessity to save and educated the girl child. Prof. Tarsem Lal, Dr Seema Sudan and Dr Deepti Gupta were the judges of the program. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was launched as a flagship programme by the Govt. of India to address the declining child sex ratio and issues related to the empowerment of women. The programme was organized by Prof. Gurvinder Kour, NSS Officer under the able guidance of Dr. T K Sharma, Principal, GDC Khour. |
