| 250 KGs poppy straw like substance recovered | | Narcotics smuggler arrested by district police Samba | |  Early Times Report
Samba, July 17: Continuing its drive against the narcotics smugglers, District Police Samba under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, IPS has arrested a narcotics smuggler and recovered approximately 250 Kgs of Poppy Straw(Bhukki) like substance in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur.
A Police Party of PS Vijaypur led by Inspr. Rajeev Kumar under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur, Ms. Priyanka Kumari intercepted a Truck bearing Registration number PB07Z/ 8370 at Naka AIIMS NHW, Vijaypur.
While checking, approximately 250Kgs of Poppy Straw like substance in 11 plastic sacks were recovered from the said truck.
The accused person identified as Jatinder Singh S/o Raghubir Singh R/o Hoshiarpur, Punjab has been arrested on the spot and the contraband item alongwith vehicle were also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 103/2022 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and further investigation started. |
