Three drug peddlers arrested; 300 grams of Heroin, Rs. 3, 06,000 recovered | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 21: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success in Gandhi Nagar area by recovering 300 grams of heroin and Rs. 3,06,000 in the jurisdiction of Police Station Gandhi Nagar. Sources said that a team of Gandhi Nagar police station led by Inspector Pankaj Sharma SHO concerned, assisted by PSI Sonu Choudhary and PSI Basharat Hussain while on patrolling duty near Goda Chowk Nanak Nagar Jammu rounded up three suspects who were on their vehicles bearing registration number JK02CH-3911and JK12A-1158 as they appeared suspicious to police party. They tried to escape but their attempt was thwarted due to swift police action. A police official said, “On search of vehicles 300 grams of heroin and Rs. 3, 06,000 was recovered from their possession”. Police has lodged a case FIR number 175/2022 under section 8/21/22/25/27A/29 NDPS Act at police station Gandhi Nagar and accused were arrested. The accused were identified as Mukhtyar Ahmad resident of Phagla tehsil Surankote, Poonch, Zafar Iqbal resident of Harni tehsil Mendhar, Poonch and Tariq Mohammad resident of Mankote tehsil Mendhar, Poonch at present Chhani Rama Jammu.
