Early Times Report JAMMU, July 22: To promote the Traditional Culture of J&K and observe the Anti Dengue Month 2022, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan in coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production presented its 121th Friday Series Musical Concert "MACHHERDANI" on the theme of " SAY NO TO BREEDING OF AEDES MOSQUITO " at open air theatre Durga Bhawan, Janipur Jammu to draw attention of the masses living with vector borne diseases including dengue, malaria and their treatments. The Program was inaugurated by as Chief Guest V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India and Mukesh Singh, Media Person of the Shadow Newspaper & Former Chief Medical Officer, Jammu and Kashmir Government, Dr. Tara Singh Charak presided over the function. The day commemorated as "Anti Dengue Month " as well with sole aim of rejuvenating the traditional , primitive Folk, Art, Culture of J&K Region in particular and Indian nation in general. Awareness items Specially prepared on the themes like "Dengu Machher Bura", "Chara Da Bukhar - Roko Roko Malaria Gi Roko", "Bacho Bacho Dengu Kola Bacho", Skits, Songs and dances were presented to aware the masses. The Chief Guest said the peak of the dengue epidemic period is around June to August during the rainy season. It is believed that climate is an important factor for dengue transmission.A mathematical model for vector-host infectious disease was used to calculate the impacts of climate to the transmission of dengue virus and also lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful, effective & result oriented theme wise contents to promote love & peace as advocated by the stalwarts of theatre National Unity & Communal Harmony, Indian Democracy Health etc.During the month BLSKS will present 10 shows in Udhumpur, Tikri, Kot Bhalwal, Dansal, Akhnoor Blocks to aware the masses. Earlier welcoming the audience Dr. M.L. Dogra, chairman said dengue is a Viral Disease "IF THEY BREED…. YOU WILL BLEED" , Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne tropical disease caused by the dengue virus. Symptoms typically begin three to fourteen days after infection. This may include a high fever, headache, vomiting, muscle and joint pains, and a characteristic skin rash. Recovery generally takes less than two to seven days. In a small proportion of cases, the disease develops into the life-threatening dengue hemorrhagic fever, resulting in bleeding, low levels of blood platelets and blood plasma leakage, or into dengue shock syndrome, where dangerously low blood pressure occurs. A novel vaccine for dengue fever has been approved in three countries, but it is not yet commercially available. Prevention is by reducing mosquito habitat and limiting exposure to bites. This may be done by getting rest of the covering standing water and wearing clothing that covers much of the body. The symptoms of the Dengue are abrupt onset of high fever, severe frontal headache, pain behind the eye which worsens with eye movements, loss of sense of taste and appetite, measles -like rash over chest and upper limbs, nausea and vomiting. Mostly the disease spread in desert coolers, drums, jars, pots, buckets, flower vases, plant, saucers, tanks, cisterns, bottles, tins tires, roof, gutters, refrigerator , drip pans, cement blocks, cemetery urns, bamboo stumps, coconuts, shells, tree holes, and many more places where rainwater collects or is stored and every body should, care so that the dengue disease not spreads. Apart from eliminating the mosquitoes, work is ongoing for medication targeted directly at the virus. |
