Jammu, July 27: President of India has appointed Rajesh Sekri as Additional Judge of the Common High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. As per the notification issued by Department of Justice of Union Ministry of Law and Justice, in exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, President has appointed Rajesh Sekri to be an Additional Judge of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh for a period of two years with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office. The J&K High Court has sanctioned strength of 17 Judges including 13 Permanent Judges and 4 Additional Judges. However, at present there are fifteen Judges including Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal. With the elevation of Senior Most District & Sessions Judge Rajesh Sekri as Judge of J&K High Court the sitting strength of the Common High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh goes to sixteen. Rajesh Sekri born in Jammu, did his Matriculation from S.D. Sabha High Secondary School. Did Graduation from Government Gandhi Memorial Science College and L.L.B from Faculty of Law, University of Jammu in the year 1989. Passed K.C.S. (Judicial) and joined as Munsiff in 1995. Was promoted as Sub-Judge, in 1998 and as District and Sessions Judge in 2008 and got selection Grade in 2014 w.e.f June 2013 and was placed in Super Time scale in 2017. He served as CJM, Rajouri and Kargil and as District Judge, as Special Judge TADA/POTA Court Srinagar, Additional District Judge Anantnag, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Jammu, Principal District Judge, Reasi, Ramban and Baramulla. He also served as Special Judge Anti-corruption CBI cases, Jammu and presently posted as Judicial Member, J&K Special Tribunal, Jammu.
