BJP top brass intensifies public outreach in JK | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 29: Amid the speculations of Assembly elections later this year, the Bharatiya Janta Party or BJP has intensified its public outreach in Jammu and Kashmir with the top leadership of the saffron party including union ministers visiting the Union Territory quite frequently than before. In the last around a fortnight atleast four senior leaders of the BJP at the national level have visited the twin regions of the Union Territory to attend rallies while the sources said “it was a program to counter the similar events being held by the Kashmir based political parties in particular.” Whereas the national spokesperson of the party, Dr Sambit Patra visited Jammu, Dr Jitendra Singh who is the minister in the Prime Minister’s office visited his home region. Another senior leader and minister in Bihar, Syed Shahnawaz Hussian visited Kashmir. While senior BJP leader, Tejesvi Surya flagged of the first ever Tiranga Bikers Rally from the historic Lal Chowk, Shahnawaz Hussain was in Kashmir to celebrate the victory of Droupadi Murmu being elected as the President of India. Sources said the multiple teams being sent by the BJP to Jammu and Kashmir are on a mission to get feedback on the three odd years of governance since the abrogation of the so called special status of J&K on August 5, 2019 apart from “expanding the party presence on the political turf.” Sources said three more senior BJP leaders are scheduled to visit the region the next few days. Sources said the development took place after the regional parties in J&K activated their cadres for public outreach through political rallies being held across the Union Territory especially by the National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party and the Apni Party in particular. Sources said the top level leadership of the BJP has resolved that the national leadership must supplement the efforts of the JK wing of the right wing party for “more and more public support.” Sometime ago, Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh had hinted at the possibility of the Assembly elections being held later this year but while maintaining that the final call is to be taken by the Election Commission of India. |
