DFCO enforcement team undertakes multiple awareness initiatives | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Aug 20: A team of enforcement officers of the Department of Food Safety (DFCO) organized a mela at Kachi Chawani here on Saturday. A statement said that the aim of the mela was to create general awareness about food safety, its provisions, regulations and “Eat Right” initiatives including RUCO, Fortification, FoSTaC and related parameters of FSS Act. During the program participants, including food business operators and customers were imparted with the guidelines to follow. Another program was organized at Poonch House at Panjthirthi here in which the team of the officers highlighted the objectives of the program which mainly focused on general awareness & Eat Right initiatives. In both the programs more than 100 participants took part & were advised to follow the provisions of FSSA & guidelines. Simultaneously, Mobile Food Testing Van was also run across Jammu for on the spot testings of food items and during the campaign more than 30 tests of different categories of food items were undertaken. It is pertinent to mention that the team of the department had met Director ,Hospitality & Protocol Circuit House Jammu and during the meeting initiatives of Eat Right were discussed at length. |
