Azad loyalist Tara Chand attends Vikar’s coronation | Congress Infighting | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 20: Ongoing infighting in Congress took an interesting turn today when former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, who is a staunch loyalist of Ghulam Nabi Azad, attended the coronation of the newly appointed Pradesh Congress Committee chief Vikar Rasool Wani at Srinagar. Tara Chand, who has been boycotting all official functions of the party for the last two years, stunned everyone in the Congress when he reached Srinagar to attend the coronation of Vikar Rasool. Tara Chand came from Jammu to attend the function to give a message to the high command that he is no more associated with the group of leaders, who owe their allegiance to Ghulam Nabi Azad. Another prominent Azad loyalist who was present in the coronation function was Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, who was also in the race for PCC chief. Important to mention that many loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad have boycotted the function. Meanwhile, according to a hand issued by the party, Vikar Rasool Wani took over as new president of JKPCC and expressed gratitude to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azad, K.C Venugopal, and Rajani Patil for appointing him to the coveted post. He assured that will do his utmost to further strengthen the Congress Party, at the grassroots. He slammed BJP for diving and downgrading the J&K into UT to serve its political agenda. : BJP has done a tremendous blunder by making a full-fledged State as UT with the result people are feeling disappointed”, he said and added that the democratic rights too have been snatched, which is very unfortunate and reflects the divisive agenda of the BJP. He said Congress Party is capable enough to fight against the BJPs vendetta politics, it will continue to highlight the price hike, rising unemployment, lack of development, and misuse of agencies against the opponents at every appropriate forum to make the BJP accountable and answerable to people. |
